Craigslist Find

If the "paying my dues" season hadn't left me poor and I didn't already have too many trucks, (is that really a problem?), I'd be on this like stink on poop. Or an elected official on taxpayer's money.

4x4 Super Cab 6.9 Turbo $1,450 Salem, Oregon

I like it. I would cost me another Grand to get it up here tho.

Still very realistic. Anyone available to go and look at it?

That's about what I paid for my Bronco.

It looks good in the pic's

When did the rear seats start folding down from the sides?

It's not a year specific item, the fold downs are base, the rear bench is part of an option package.

Strange. As many of these as I have seen in junkyards and such, I have never seen those kind of seats before... and I have looked at a LOT.

We had a 88 gas that had the jump seats in the rear. I personally hated them.

Yes. They look like they would be horrible. I like how the ex cab bench flips to become a flat deck. I wish my crew cab seats did something similar. Even with jump seats this truck is a steal!

You know, it'd be nice to see a Ford-provided breakdown of the different packages, Ranger, Lariat, XL, XLT. All I've ever seen is speculation and it is all contradictory. (And the Ranger trim was dropped, what around '81?)

Of course, the trucks themselves are contradictory. All three of my 7th gens were XLT Lariats and the option packages were different. All three had A/C and cruise, but:

My 84: Power windows/locks. Front and rear bench seats. Wood grain trim on the door panels where the power switches were.

My '85: Manual windows/locks. Front bench, rear jump seats. Basic door panels with a cloth padded area.

My '86: Power windows/locks. Front and rear bench seats. Basic door panels with a cloth padded area.

The rear bench seats are pretty worthless too, unless you passengers have no legs. What I liked about it when I had my '84 I folded down to the "deck" position, cut a piece of carpet to fit and had a good place to store gear and for the dog to ride along in.

As an afterthought, I'm not sure if my '84 was a Lariat or not. Been too long ago and not enough pictures to verify.

And what was the determining factor in the 7th & 8th gens on what trucks got the nice front seats? You know, the buckets with the armrests and the center console with the cup holder? I like those interiors and I always got stuck with the bench seat.
I guess it was just an option the buyer added on?
