I have a connector that I can't figure out what it is for. I've tried to track it down in the wiring schematics but I am not getting it. Test light shows it is hot but it also buzzes when I test it.
I thought maybe it is the seatbelt buzzer connector but it doesn't seem to matter if the seatbelts are engaged or not. Looked under the dash to see if the PO shoved some loose wires up into the dash but I couldn't see any orphans.
Doesn't appear to plug into the hi/low and it is too short to plug into much else.
I'm certain it is the seatbelt buzzer. Back when Dad bought his 77 he was offended that his vehicle would tell him what to do so he disconnected the buzzer. There should have been another coupler under the dash to a loop through the seatbelt sensor and back. It could have been removed in the 30 some odd years since it was installed.
When you make contact, how long does it buzz before stopping?

I didn't hold the test light on it long enough to see if it would stop.
If it wasn't the buzzer I didn't want to fry anything in case the PO had it wired to something else.
You're right there is a good chance it was removed over the course of its life.
I'm not sure how many warning lights these trucks might have but I know nothing lights up on the cluster when I turn the key. no brake warning for example. No buzzing etc.
Good deal though I thought it was that; but when I looked at the diagrams I was looking for something off the headlights.
The seatbelt buzzer was it as far as warning sounds. I don't think they even had e brake warning lights. In Dads 77 it would buzz for a second or two then stop.
Definitely the connection for the seat belt buzzer. Just disconnected the one in my truck since it didn't work anyways. The connecting wire ran along the floor under the carpet to the driver's side seat belt.
