Hello ladies and gents, Ive been surfing around the forum trying to find cost effective and relatively easy upgrades to get some more oomph out of my engine. Im not looking to be in the 500 HP numbers, just some more power when I use it for work. I have heard that the Crane 444232 is the best cam for this engine, if I were to do a cam swap using this cam what else will be needed to get the most out of the swap?

 

call the manufacture of which ever cam you buy. they will tell you what you need depending on what year engine you have, what fuel injectors and so on. they would know more about there product than any one here.

 

You can add 1.7 rockers but what the motor really needs is a full exhaust system that includes headers of some type because outside the cam the stock exhaust is the next big choke point.

 

Well Im putting on a new y pipe, cat and muffler. I was planning on doing headers some time in the future. Thanks for the info guys!
