pennies?

So, a PO put pennies in most of the ***** on the dash of my '58. They replace (or cover) the plane silver disc that is there from the factory.

Was this a common thing to do during the late '50s or '60s?

In any case, I intend to replace the missing ***** and find old pennies to make them all the same.

I cut red vinyl sticker the size of a dime and put them in to see if I liked it before I committed to paint them. Dime size was big enough so I didn't have to use adhesive and just pressed them in. White ***** with red center. I still cant decide if I like it but I know I don't like plain white *****. BTW my shift **** is red and white marble looking and hanging from mirror is a vintage red and white hand blown marble.

Sounds like a sharp interior. Got a pic of it?

Just stock with a home made zune dock and a fancy shift ****. Prolly do Red gauges or red accents on dash panel when I'm ready for that. I couldn't get a good shot of the marble hanging from mirror. Flash kept making it blur.

That's a very clean job. I really like it. I do see what you mean about the white/red ***** though. It'd be cool if you could match them to the shifter.

Maybe Silver Dimes inside the **** centers. Brushed aluminum would also be cool looking. I wanna do me steering wheel center red too but if I do that might be enough without gauges being red.

Post pictures of what your looks like now and what you do when you decide.

I'm not home so these will have to do. I'll try and get better shots tonight.
I'm thinking of keeping the red and white theme throughout the truck. Once I replace on the weather seals on the cab I'll look into having a white headliner made.

Other than that, I'm not sure yet. A stereo will go somewhere...nicely hidden, I think. The dash has not been cut into at all and I like it that way.

This is not a very good pic. It's in my albums. They are white marbles in the ***** on the 62.

She also has Real ivory dice in the horn button.

So ya could use marbles that closely match your truck color or interior
or even contrast to it.

Great idea. I would love to find some red ones.
