Weight torque and a 17" foot print at each corner with a truck I know better than I should.
It's all a matter of opinion and everyone's truck is different. I didn't build mine to baby. With an HD trans already in I know what my truck is all about. It might not be the most powerful but she has proven herself time and time again at shutting guys like this Dakota driver up.

I don't like dodge or Chevy but I would hate to see a guy break his truck over something silly like that.
you gotta pay to play and you gotta gamble to win! my point is you dont get to talk trash about the other guys truck when you backed down....basic principle there.....put up or shut up!

I think you could have hooked up, left your truck in park with the brake set and walked away. I doubt he would have been able to move you.

I decided to grow a pair and ask him if he wanted to do it and he backed out instantly. He told me his friend was running his mouth for him and he wanted nothing to do with breaking his truck.

nice! very nice! now there's something about that guy retreating thats just plain gratifying......you wouldnt have had any problem beating that guy imo.....i think alot of the guys on here were using the "i might brake something" excuse because they dont want to get embarrassed if they lost but ya know i look at it like this.....hook the truck....if something breaks then build it twice as strong and go do it again....if you get beat.....improve your truck and go back out there.....you dont have to turn into a full time truck pull kinda guy but its nice to know what your truck will do....and its FUN!

the last time i was challenged to a pull off i told the guy only people with small "man parts" challenge others to truck pulls to compensate for what they don't have.

all his friends started laughing as i walked away

Thats the video I wanted to see! It immediately came to mind when I read this thread. I would not hook up with someone that I had a fear of them snatching the chain. I may be inclined to hook up with someone that I trusted to gradually take slack out of said chain and then really pull. Life is short. If your not living it on the edge, your taking up too much room.

This is proof that this guy in the Dakota isn't as dumb as we made him out to be. You left out the part that his friend was poking at you and not the driver himself. In this case I would have said no in the beginning also.
