No not yet. Mondays are my normal days off. Mondays are when I get to conduct my business and running around. Today being a holiday turned out to be my relaxing, work around the house day. So no business was conducted today. I'm going to try to meet with the 3m people this week, but if I can't, then it will have to wait until next Monday. I do have some samples coming, based on the picture I provided. So we'll see how close it get's matched.
Ok Guy's/Gal's tell me how close is this grain, to the one on the panel?

Looks good. I still think once it's installed with all the bells and whistles no one will notice much difference.....they will just see a new looking panel instead of a faded one!
By the way. What color is that or what part number??
This one is Marine Teak Wood. The other ones I looked at weren't as close as this one. From all the responses here, I sent out for samples of each one. This one was the closest match. Actually when I held it against the original, moving it up and down, the wood grain lined up perfectly. I'm pretty confident that this choice will be accepted.
I searched the internet from every possible angle trying to find the grain that was most possibly used. No definitive answer was located.
I think you nailed it. Ford will have to go way back in I would assume paper archives for your answer. Will take awile.
That's all part of the restoration process. Some of us who restore parts or just need to know, ask everyone and hope to get an answer. When dealing with corporations it all depends on how you ask. If the email gets to the right person, and their curiosity goes up, then you have a shot. It might take a few times but eventually I'll get the right answer, if I don't have it already. To be honest, I think I have the right answer already, now I just need confirmation.

Yep. I see that's what the eventual buyers pay for...........Sounds like you're the bird dog that don't give up. Good Job Robert!
And here's the final Product.
What you guy's gal's think? <table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tbody><tr><td bgcolor="#dfdfdf" colspan="2"></td></tr><tr><td align="center" bgcolor="#ffffff" colspan="2"></td></tr></tbody></table>
Have you held a piece of ranger xlt woodgrain side trim next to it to see if it's lighter or darker? Just curious. I still say once on the truck it will look factory. In the early 90's jc Whitney used to sell the woodgrain vinyl. I put it on a 72 xlt and all I got was compliments and the grain pattern wasn't as close as what you have.
