I was sent an email tonight from Rod Kruithoff's daughter saying he has decided to sell his Marmom-Herrington collection. Stu and I and others have mentioned Rod's collection. We've seen it in person, these are A-1 trucks especially my favorite the '52 Ranger. That is one vehicle that is in the top 5 of my dream vehicles.
Rod's trucks are all nicely done, and in some ways fancier than would have been original. It appears Rod is not approaching this with an auction in mind, but rather is offering them to interested serious buyers. His Ranger is one of a maybe five produced in '52. Mark Mossell has the best archive of Ranger production and says they were single digit following the 1950 production year. I have archived three surviving F-2 M-Hs, and a couple dozen F-3s encompassing all years. Chuck says there were only a couple hundred F-1s converted each year, and I'm not sure how many of them have survived.
Rod's M-H collection is one of the finest there is. I appreciate his generosity allowing me time on my back staring up at his trucks. Stu
Those are some beauties. Oh I'm interested in buying, the problem is that the bank account isn't. I'm not a big fan of yellow, but that one sure makes you think. I would like to see inside that Ranger too.
The add says the F7 has an overhead V8...what engine is it?
Nice trucks... thanks for the pics, Bob, even though they are all manure spreaders... must have been hard for you to do....
I wonder why he put chrome grilles on them, as everything else except the white walls appear stock?
I would guess he built them the way he liked them. I like the chrome grills myself.

At the time I took this picture Rod was finishing the truck and didn't have the seats installed.
Hmmm.... I can probably finance the Ranger but I'd have to live in it. I may call later to see if the Ranger is affordable. I may sell my 52 Panel, the Airflow and anything else I have.
