msd vs street fire
So ive done some research and can't find much on any difference between the two besides price. Si what di you guys think about them? Im running a 77 4x4 400 manual trans ported heads bored 30 over with a mild cam and a holley 650 double pumper. My engine spits and sputters when im pulling and I believe and ignition system will fix it. Any suggestions or input would be appreciated

If you want honest advice, NEITHER are really necessary. The stock Duraspark system can perform satisfactory for nearly all applications, despite all the "hooplah" of "performance ignition." I realize that's not what you asked.
More importantly, what leads you to believe the ignition system is the culprit? Under what conditions does the problem occur? Does it only happen while the engine warms up, etc?

It is happening when the truck is under extreme load (a 30000 lb sled) at around 3-4 thousand rpm. I checked the plugs and the appear to have gas on them so this was the conclusion I came to that it just doesn't have a hot enough spark

Hey buddy, all this stuff to me is like chinese haha But for your sake, be as specific as you possibly can and fmc will get you straightened out. He knows this ish like I know how to get comfortable on a toilet seat.
