Update ignition or not?!!!?!!?!?!?!?!

Would I notice a 'seat of the pants' difference by updating my ignition system from points to say a Duraspark or something like that? Any suggestions on other ignition systems? Serious guys, I always hate it when somebody says add a K&N filter and gain 25HP - If I added all the 'claimed HP' that these companies advertise, my 300 would be 400HP now! I just want to know if it's worth the expense to change out a perfectly running ignition system, and if so what is the best route to go. Thanks-

The biggest problem with points is that they start to wear out as soon as you start the engine. With an electronic ignition you don't have to worry about that. It's one less thing to adjust at tune up time. An electronic ignition usually provides a hotter spark because the coil sees a full 12V instead of the 7-10 V typical for a points system.

I noticed a slight gain from adding an MSD box and coil, but probably not worth it on a stock truck. Just converting to electronic ignition is probably worth it.
