Nice work! Last time I had a decent 48-50 dash, I cut out the same exact section that you replaced thinking that someone could use it on their cut up dash. Finally sold it to an FTE'er.
I'm cutting out the entire dash out of a 52 F2 in a few weeks.
Nice job, your one busy guy, doing the things that Ive been putting off. I bought that exact same piece from 51 PanelMan , and was pleased as punch to get it (last year). Its hanging in my garage along with a new engine xmember & motor mounts, also waiting for the mood to strike me. Its hard to start projects that will take you back out of commission. Thanks for the incentive.

My dad used to have a welding shop (Western Welding) on the Esplanade there in Chico. There is a car lot that has a wrought iron fence around it that has antique cars in different panels . He built that . I was out there on '05 & took pictures , but lost them in a computer crash ....

I remember both shops, I cant remember the name of the car lot at the moment but it was owned by a great guy named Joe that sold and did restoring in the back, Pebble Beach grade, I was lucky enough to do phone work for him, and watch abit. If I'm right, the business changed hands a few years back and so did drooling over the cars he offered. I don't know what happened to Joe but the fence is still there the last time I drove by. Very cool. "EDIT" Ill try and get a pic or two of the fence, next time Im in chico.
Dude I drove down to Chico today to get some pics of your Dads fence, but when I did there were no panels. I asked two guys that were on the lot and one said that the panels were removed, and the other said that he didn't remember the panels. The place I was thinking of and took a pic of to see if you recognized it is on the end of Main st. If this isn't the right place, and you remember what street it was on, I will gladly to go by and take more pics for you. Or even if you know what part of town its in, Ill be happy to look for it.
