Can everyone share with me who they use for insurance on classic trucks. I added my 49 to my Geico policy and was stunned at what they wanted to charge me for the truck a year.
Many posts on here and the HAMB, it comes down to what you want to to with the truck. Some classic car insurance companies have restrictions on where and when you drive it, so read the fine print and ask LOTS of questions.
Me personally I have them insured for stated value with Farmers at a cost of about $540 a year. I don't own a new vehicle, so it's a daily driver and with my insurance I can drive it anywhere like it's a 2013 Ford.
Best to do a forum search (use the 'Search This Forum' feature on the right side of the blue line on this page). There was a thread within the last month. Bit of a split between the 'regular' carriers - State Farm, Progressive, and such -and the specialty houses - Haggerty et al. Costs and coverage varied - have to watch the restrictions as oldtimer suggests.
My F-1 is insured with Condon-Skelly with 18k agreed value.......around $250 a year. I have had my '31 Plymouth insured with them for 25 years and the premium has never gone up. No serious restrictions either.
I ran this same question / thread about a month ago, which had a great response, with a lot of good information. Im putting an icon at the end of this post that will hopefully take you to a it. "EDIT" The icon didn't work, Im sorry but if you want to find it, I posted it on 7/5/13 at 6:12 PM. Called insuring our trucks? PS I went with Hagerty, as you will see.
I am real happy with Hagerty. They charge less than 10% of what my other insurance company wanted. Some restrictions...must garage it and limit milage, which was not a problem for me. You can go to their website and put in your info, and it will tell you what they will charge.

Glad you started this thread. While looking at my policy I realized that over time the 56 had become way under insured. Just logged on to Hagerty and increased the value to something that comes closer to replacement cost.
I just went shopping for insurance for my 48. The prices were all over the place, any where from 250-550. I called up Heacock and seeing that I already have one car with them I only had to pay for the comp/colision part of the policy. The truck is insured for 25K, 3000 miles 0 deductable comp/col, full safety glass, 2000 spare parts. $174.00 for the year.
WE HAVE GOVERNMENT INSURANCE ..$900 a year basic ..no collision, no theft ..basic 200,000 liability ,,and that with my 40% discount for 15 years no accidents,,,damm you have it good
