How the fluid? Is it good and red or is it muddy? When was the last time a GOOD tune up was done on the engine. I think you have a engine condition not a transmission condition. Try dropping the y-pipe of the manifolds and drive it around the block. If the problem goes away it's the cats, it still exists check the egr for malfunction. It can cause the same issue if it's sticking open.
Did A full tune up right after issue started. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter. Coil was changed a couple months ago due to when it rained the truck wouldn't run haha. Checked the EGR and cleaned it up found nothing wrong during any checks. I have checked every sensor in the emissions, ignition and fuel systems. Haven't checked CATs only only because this issue arose suddenly and have no build up or warning. I will check the CAT's Monday.
growing up I was always told that if you hook a TACH to the motor and drive it, if you RPM's bounce your issue is in the motor, if they hold steady then it is in your transmission. I put a TACH on my truck and all through the driving range and this issue my RPM's never falter. Not saying that this is the best test but i'm just trying to isolate my problem.
