Newbie here

Hi, just joined FTE since every time I go on the net to find out info or how to's I always find a link directing me here so it only makes sense I should join the site. About myself, I'm a newly retiree and just moved to Sacramento, Ca. within the past year. I have owned trucks most of my life but never owned one that was set up for off road four wheel driving until now. Last Dec. I decided I needed a hobby to go with my retirement and since I've always like trucks I would take on a fixer upper to restore and do some off road camping with as well as have something to bug out if needed.. Well I found myself a 1995 Ford F-150 XL 4x4 with a 5.0 engine automatic.Well having it less than a year I've managed to spend 3x the amount I paid for it getting it up to snuff. A lot of it I've been able to do myself but somethings I needed to have more qualified people tackle who had the equip and knowledge to do such as the rear engine seal replaced and some tranny work and steering suspension work. But now I'm seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and though I will miss doing any serious off road camping this season I'll definitely be ready for 2014. Would love to hear from other owner with similar trucks and their experiences and possibly tips on making my truck off rd worthy rather than finding out the hard way. Thanks
