Steering Wheel Swap
Have a 2000 f-250 7.3 lariat
Tan colour steering wheel is a mess. I have a 2002 excursion steering that has HVAC, cruise and radio controls.
I would like to use this steering wheel but only for radio and cruise. I have the airbag for it also, but don't have the clock spring. Has anyone done this mod on there f-250. Searched the forum but didn't find much

LOL! That looks like a special alright! Ya might check a online wreckin yard ! ya may get lucky! I hunted the web for my wood wheel and and got a decent price on it! compared the $500 I spent on my first Benz! All I can say at this point is hit the web unless one of the folks here has one laying around !

Boy I am gettin a little dupley in my old age!! So the bottom line is you just need a new wheel? But you want cruise and radio! JMO but I would get a reg wheel with cruise and reach for the radio! Believe a yard would have a clock spring or look online! Would not mess around with the EX wheel! sounds like a lot of headaches!

The electrical can-o-worms you are thinking of opening just will be very frustrating to you.
Spending the money for the correct part will look like chump change after a couple of months of fighting it without an entire donor truck (or in this case, Excursion).
I have a strong electro-mechanical background, and I would tell you to pound sand if you brought it to me to do.
Of course, YMMV!
