It was about $1700. new. I bought one like it only long bed. It was a decent truck after Ford got the front end right. If I were spending that kind of money unseen, I would have it appraised. The seller does not have a lot of feedback.
Myself, I wouldnt buy it sight unseen. Id have to see it, or have someone see it for me that I trust.
The frame he claimed he blasted. I see some rust on the inside of the frame rail over the rear axle in the last picture.
The body looks pretty solid. I can figure that by looking at the underside. The inside of the cab corners look decent and the bottom of the box looks to be in good shape. The paint is smooth. He admits to a small bit of filler which normal for paint prep. The grill is straight. All the badging and chrome is intact. The inside of the box looks excellent.
You could certainly do worse. Overall a very sharp truck. Even still, I wouldnt buy it without eyes on first, yours or someone elses.
Sharp looking truck. But it looks like someone found a good foundation and has done the minimum basics to to clean it up to sell for top dollar. Could have at least went to NAPA and picked up a preformed radiator hose and flip the clutch pedal pad around. I wonder if you can get it delivered complete with the black widow spider webs all under the truck. When they sit outside, and don't move, you get those damn spiders. Good thing he has it up on Ebay since he wouldn't get that money locally (meaning California) unless he wanted to wait for the cows to come home.
Both are nice and both are overpriced. Both sellers are not being truthful when they give the mileage figures. I'd offer 2K less than asking price and if he still wants to talk have someone look at the truck. Of the two trucks the California one looks best. The diamond plate bed on the NY truck is a red flag for me as is the bubbles around the hood front. And, money talks and BS walks so have cash in your pocket and try to cut a deal. The buyer has the right to **** off the seller and the seller has the right to not sell. IMHO.
