I posted this in the Bronco forum, but I believe it should have been here to get more eyes on.
I am looking at purchasing a low mileage two owner 96 bronco that has been meticulously cared for and has piles of service records and all of the original purchase paperwork.
A dealer add-on to the original bill of sale was an Ignition Enhancer for $99.
Does anyone have any idea what that would have been? I will be going to look at the bronco this Friday, and was curious as to what I should be seeing.
Ignition Enhancer? That's a new one on me, never heard of it. I suspect it is a "wallet biopsy" device....aka snake oil product that is designed to increase dealer profit.
ignition enhanser....huh...so that means my ignition must be the non enhanced one, wonder what the difference is...nothing thats what, sounds like a wallet biopsy device (or a scam) just a way to take more money from the poor person who originally bought the truck...OEM is where its at IMO...
They probably shoved an aftermarket coil in it, if anything. Like already mentioned though, hopefully they (the dealer) didn't hack into the factory wiring. I'd def inspect the ignition system and wiring very closely.
