Is anyone familiar with the remote oil filter kit from RCD River city diesel or had the opportunity of installing one?
I'm looking at installing one in my 6.4 Ford diesel .. I don't like the oil filter on top of the engine and leads me to believe once you loosen the cap the dirt runs back into the crankcase . Like some suggestions on this.
any dirt gets trapped into the filter media, when you open the cap any oil runs down into the oil pan and out the drain plug. Hundreds of import vehicles and now American vehicles are using the filters up top
I am not familiar with the other engines that have the oil filters on top. But I've been looking at the new Ford setup on the 6.7 engine the filter is on the side of the engine and also it is only a 5 Micron glass wound type of filter. The filter that is on the 6.0 and 6.4 is only a 20 Micron and to my knowledge this is as good as it gets there is no replacement. The one on the new Ford engine removes a lot more soot from the oil which is obviously better for the engine. This RCD system runs a 20 micron and then a 3 micron .
I would like to hear from someone who has installed this type of system it is on the pricey side, but then my truck wasn't cheap either.
