I just got a 1997 F250 supercab, had a 7.3 powerstroke in it. It is just the truck minus the font grill housing and engine, some stuff missing from interior as well. Does still have the tranny in it and both gas tanks and bed (8ft). Here is my question, truck has been used for parts, was wrecked in 2005 and sold at a salvage auction. I was wondering if you could remove the cab (still in pretty good shape) and put a crew cab on the same frame? I am thinking that it is the same frame as a crew cab. I would then make a custom bed to put on it or a flat bed. In addition to this I want to put a Cummins in it, which I know can be done, I would just like to make it a crew cab.
I like the Cummins myself, but for the work the 7.3 diesel is OK. It is the only Ford/IH diesel that is any good that Ford used. The 6.9 was OK & 7.3 IDI but they lacked power the 7.3 Power Stroke doesn't. They will live a long life. Just my opinions.
cummins it I have a 24v in mine with a few power adders went to concan tx from corpus and got around 24 miles to a gallon on 35's plus it has a cool factor to it that has people always asking ?'s
