in the morning when i first start up my truck, it starts fine . pull out on the street and step on fuel and engine just stayes at an idle, maybe a little more than that. gets up to say 15 mph. stop at corner store for coffee leaving the truck running, say 10 minutes. get in the truck and it has most of its normal power for a short distance then acts like its running out of fuel. go about 3 or 4 more blocks and it gets back to normal for a little further, this goes on for 10 - 15 miles before it streightens up. can drive for over 50 miles with no problems till i shut engine off for a while. then it starts up again but not as bad as when cold. all ive done is replaced fuel filter so far, the old one was not that old. any thoughts
If i'm understanding you correctly.. Check the plug on the back of the peddle. these trucks are fly by wire, not cable driven. the sending unit's on the peddle control do go out..
i checked the plug, but what do i look for. it throws no check engine light and after it runs for 15 - 20 minutes it runs almost like new. when it acts up it seems to be trying to get fuel after it runs out and then filled. i also seem to have a fuel leak on top somewhere. i havn't been able to pinpoint it though. maybe they are the same problem. not so noticable at the fuel guage . thanks for your thoughts mobile robert
