Hey guys, im kind of new to these exhaust pipes. I own a 1999 F-150 with the 5.4 V-8 and want to put some flowmasters on it, but am not sure what it does to the truck. Will it effect the ride (vibration wise) and will i hear it in the inside to where it gets aggrivating? I want to route them to where they come out by each end of the bumper. Please post as many replies as possible before i make a decision.

If you want an exhaust system that has great tone, but will not
be obnoxious, go with a Gibson system.

Hold up. My Flowmaster American Thunder isn't even very loud at all, and gave a noticable increase in power. It sounds like you want them to come out the rear, right. If so, the sound they make will hardly even be heard inside the cab in the first place. I don't know about the newer trucks, but on my '91 the American Thunder system isn't even that loud. If you really don't want loud you can just go with the Force II system. And no, they won't make any new vibrations, just power.

I'd get the Force II if I were you. It has a very nice, mellow gurgle at idle, silent when cruising and you really only hear it when you are accelerating. Awesome Flowmaster tone!

Go with the Flowmaster American Thunder it isn't loud at all. If you go with the Gibson just leave the stock exhaust on won't be to much of a differance in sound...IMO Dan

OH, before anyone beats me up on the Gibson... YES, I have already had both systems. Whatever system you pick it won't be to loud because you have cats... Dan

I also have a 1998 F150 with a 5.4. It has over 230,000 miles on it!! I was wonder if i put a flowmaster system on and cut the cats out how much louder would it be than with just the flowmasters? I was also wondering if i should go with the new force ll or stay with like a 40 series??
