I just recently bought an 07' F250 and would like to do an oil change. Ive read many threads on this subject but most of what ive read always circles cold climates. I work offshore and have an endless supply of rotella t 15w40 and from what I have gathered that seems to be a suitable oil for the warm climate I live in. I just want to make sure that will be a proper oil to use given my area. Thanks in advance.
Yes, that is perfectly fine. A lot of people suggest the synthetic version but with normal intervals (5000 miles or less) the standard Rotella has worked fine for our fleet. Also be sure you have an original ford oil filter cap and use only Motorcraft or Racor oil filters.
stupid hot !!!Ya Im in Naples and am running 15w40 delo chevron oil if u develop a oil leak with rotella switch to another cause I found rotella seeps through the gaskets.. the heat would not be so bad is it was not so dang wet as well
Florida truck here too. Rotella 15/40 working for me (been reading about Delo). I change oil often.
I also add Archoil 9100.
My gas supplement test right now is also Archoil 6200. Used Ford's Cetane on every fillup in the past. Never heard that about algae.
And finally to prevent rust I use Corrosion X.
Getting weary of the heat, humidity, and those darn bugs. It has not been a great summer for fishing (but in a tournament this weekend). Moving back to my home state ASAP (Colorado)
I'm in Maryland and I run Rotella T 5w-40 year 'round. Synthetic is good for the heat as well as the cold. That's why jet engines run synthetic. If it's good for the F/A 18, it's good enough for my 6.0!

That's a different breed of diesel and a whole lot easier on oil than a 6.0.
Triple T 15w40 in my truck for the last year with Archoil 9100 and 6200 in the fuel. Tried T-6 and didn't like it, oil pressure started falling off after 3000 miles, the 15w40 holds pressures through 5000 miles.

i feel ya on the triple threat. All good info. I think im gonna go with the rotella T 15w40 because we get it in bulk on the boat and its rated CJ-4. It should hold up good in the heat. thanks for the input.
I always use a cetane booster with every fill up also. Has anybody had any experience with rev-x? The oil supplement or the fuel additive?
Yes I have, I was having stiction on one or two Injects, ran a 4oz bottle in no more cold start issues. I'm not sure how long your suppost to leave it in,its been a few months already my truck is running great.p.s I do use Rottella synthetic 5w 40 too, with stanydine fuel sup, between those two, injects and fuel tank nice and kleen.
Archoil is cheaper and works as good or better from what I have read.
Ive been hearing a lot about archoil too, just seems that rev-x is more highly recommended. Not sure if that's from just a lack of use not in archoils favor or if rev-x just edges it out.
