Hi. Tomorrow I am going to be towing my in laws 32' 10000lb TT. I'm going to be pulling it with my 96 f250 7.3
This is the camper
Using this setup .
Last time I used this was with our excursion and it was a little scary because it still swayed pretty easy.
How should it be setup? Should the ball be set so the camper frame is parallel yo the ground? I pull our 7000k TT but I only use the ball because it tows really good. Thank you
Everything should be level, so yes, setting up on a flat surface everything should be level including the truck so when the distribution bars are chained up, they are also level and the back of the truck at the wheel well is only squatting about one 1/2" to one 1'.
The head of the ball mount swivels so once you know how much bar tension you need, you can adjust it so the bars are level.
Here's a link. These are all about the same. You are not using any sway control?
If you have not adjusted the shank to the height difference of your truck vs the f150, I could very well see a lot of sway, the nose of the trailer had to be way high in the air... I just end through readjusting from my f150 to my ex. I had to flip the shank and drop it down a hole from the top. After adjusting it all in, tows like a dream... Properly set up that hitch should not give you any sway.
I failed to take note of the double cam and agree with the preceding comments, plenty of sway control there. If that doesn't tow well, something is really wrong! Sorry to have missed that.
