Chasing A Miss
I have, for some time, been chasing a miss on my E99. I have what seems like a dead cylinder. It has a subtle thud at idle and the engine will lug a little while going low speed in 4th (tc locked). I have inspected all the injectors and they all seem to be puking oil. Unplugged them individually and they all affected the idle in a similar manner. In other words it stumbled on each cylinder when unplugged. I also checked all of the injector and rocker arm bolts. It also has click or tap during deceleration (when injectors are "off"). This sound is similar to when the injectors are firing, but it's just the tap of one injector and it decreases speed with engine speed until it returns to idle. The truck seems to perform well except for the mentioned symptoms. Recently when on a short highway trip and averaged 19mpg. Oh... it has 171k on it.
