Thanks for the kind words but even though I work in a machine shop I don't think I'd have much luck with a driveshaft modification. I ended up getting a non-balanced rear flange from a buddy that works at one of the wreckers this weekend. So when I get some time I'll be swapping and seeing if it works or I will have to do some driveshaft shortening.

It has been. It's ballooned quite a bit and had a few set backs (positive and negative) along the way.

That was a pretty major set back but in the end it worked out with the better almost rust free donor truck.
House renos have been eating up my time at the moment but I'm hoping to have some progress on the truck this long weekend.

My build was put on hold to get the shop in a better place. Functioning doors and a gravel floor for the time being now allows me to use the shop as a shop.

No more direct weather to deal with.

Ordered a custom flange for the front output of the transfer case to be able to run the '09 front driveshaft and not have to deal with conversion u-joints.

Still have to get it shortened unfortunately.

Hoping to get back to working on the truck more now that the weather doesn't directly effect me. Also replaced my old '94 F-150 with a newer '08 F-250 so I wouldn't have to deal with repairs as much...even though I've been doing mods to that lately
The day I bought it:

As of this morning.

Thanks guys.
Not sure what I could do to the 5.4 that's actually worth it. I picked up a tuner for it but anything performance or tow based requires 91 octane supposedly and it's a thirsty truck. I put it on an 87 octane tune but I haven't seen or felt any increase. Suggestions besides super/turbocharging it.

no suggestions here, i had a 5.4 f150 2005 model, the only thing a tune did was increase throttle response. higher octane tune felt better of course. Nothing short of a supercharger is worth it, exhaust made no difference.

Nice truck, and yea I wouldn't waste any time modding the modular, too expensive for low gain.

Then I'll probably leave it stock besides a muffler for tone.
As far as when the '89 will be on the road that's an unknown at this point. I'd like to say soon but obviously life dictates when things get done. I'll just keep updating this thread as things happen

At this point with the Super Duty pulling daily driver duty the 89 will just be a toy truck. Something to play around with and wrench for fun.
