Mines offset, but not that much. Why? Keeps us from smashing the door panels into our thighs when closing, or better access to the seat controls I guess. Who knows?
Could you post a picture so we can see what you see? Your inquiry prompted me to go out and look at my own seat, I literally couldn't remember my seat alignment. Anyways, here is a pic of it. If anything, I think my seat points a Little to the right but I don't sense it's off center by three inches.

I get the same sensation when sitting square to the seat back. It may have to do with steering column position with regards to I-shaft fitting the large engines.
I may look at the seat tracks and see if they are staggered the same. If the RH side is 1 notch further rearward, theres your issue.
Brent, is it possible to take a photo like Karl did with the wheel lined up straight? Maybe put in a T-square or something to use as a reference? I'm going to walk outside and look at mine with a framing square, or T-square, anything to have a common point for everyone to use. Maybe even duct tape...
I knew the trans tunnel was offset from sitting in the passenger seat and wondering where the foot room was, but an offset wheel and or seat? I'm freaking out...
