trans code

I'm looking to put a 302 in my 1990 f150 it's is four wheel drive 4 speed and I need to find out what trans would be good to replace in it. right now I have the 300 6 in it does have 3.55 gears in back

You don't need to replace the transmission to replace the engine, is it an automatic with O/D? but one bit of advice, don't use the 302, go with a 351 or even better: get another 300 I6, it will require no modifications and it outperforms the 302 in most of the usual truck tasks.

Its a 4 speed trans will it match up to a 351 and its 4 wheel drive

Manua 4 speed. 3.55 gears in rear have to start off in second gear all the time 4 wheel drive if it matters

It should match the 4 speed since the 300 and both V8s share the same bellhousing pattern. The flywheel is different I think, you might want to look into that.
