there are two 'sensor's on the go-pedal. I think you're looking at the Idle Validation Switch, which is just that, an on/off switch to tell the truck when to idle. it has just 2 wires coming into it.
the TPS (or rather APS as the manual calls it - accelerator position sensor) is a rheostat that has 3 wires connecting to it.
Ivs is working and tps at idle point reads .44 gos smoothly to 3.80 . Anyway the problem is my trans don't hookup good till you pat the throtle 3 or 4 times doesn't do it everytime but probably 50% of time once it takes a holt it has no slip, shifts fine and will spin the wheels . It is a Centurion F350 4 door stretch I'm keeping it for my 7yr old grandson . I thank you for all the help I'm 64 they don't build diesels like they did when I was younger . Haha
Yes sir all new with new filter and trans don't very many mile on it . I at first thought torqueconvertor but it don't chatter and hooks up good trans was working perfect it started this all of a sudden . I thought about selonoids but in my exsper with electronics when they quit that's it they don't come back online. I took pan off to make sure filter was properly in place . I've driven it around the pasture and down the hwy
It works fine once it takes a holt . Blows my mind I've built racing transmission that handles over 1,000 hp and quite a few stock tranys. I think it's electronic related but I don't know for sure .
Some one on here a few days ago said he thought the tps or maps was bad or mabe both another fellow said idle switch but I know it works and tps works I haven't checked maps can you tell me how to check maps ?
