I apologize as this is an ongoing process to cure my tranny leak.
So I need to remove the skid plate to drop my c6 tranny pan and replace the gasket.
I know I need to remove the 2 large bolts ( both sides ) in the skid plate by the rear of the trailing arms, also the 2 bolts ( both sides ) in the skid plate at the top of the frame rails.
Now my main concern is the 4 nuts in the center of the skid plate. Do those have to come off for the plate to be removed? I am not sure what they attach to. Thanks for any information.

I apologize..... holy cow!!!! My bad.....what I am calling a skid plate is actually the cross member. Do you need to drop that to get tranny pan off? The back screws look tough to get at.
