Well I bought my first Ford, first diesel, and my first 3/4 ton all in one truck. It's a 94 F-250 with the 7.3 IDI turbo 4x4. It has 300k on it and I got it for a song because the bell housing is busted. The trans is a ZF5 (manual) so I'm having some issues finding one. I can't wait to get it going. This site is an awesome resource for info. I do have one question though. Is there an extendable mirror that will easily interchange with my truck? I can't believe ford put these tiny sport style mirrors on a tow rig. Ill add some pics if I can figure it out shortly.

My 94 has stock towing mirrors on it ... why not hit a few junkyards?
What's the stock tow mirrors look like? Are you referring to the pedestal ones?
Also. Sorry for the delay on the pics. Apparently I can't upload them from my phone

Looks just like the mirrors in this pic ... is that what you're calling pedestal?
They work all right, as long as you don't have something huge (like a slide-in camper) in the back. I put some of those stick-on convex mirrors on mine, which really help (in addition to eliminating blind spots).
If you have a really long trailer, they should be all right. If you've got a tiny one (5' x 8') like I do, I'd recommend some mirrors that stick out further ...
