Mine did the same, tried every alignment many times. Even followed Ax's excellent post here twice from scratch. Could get things aligned decently but passenger corner would pop up after a short drive. Recently installed the tilt front kit from Mid Fifty and could not be happier with it. Everything lines up perfect and so much more room to work under the hood. Changed my header gaskets and cleaned plugs today in less than an hour. No way I could have done that without the tilt hood.

Ax's excellent write up here if you want to try it https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...procedure.html

Trust me, hoods were'nt that great when new. Very common to see back then hold downs
like Jeeps had in the back, and I have one.

That's funny Ax, I was thinking the latch and/or catch is worn, so move the latch back! Oh well, try Ax's way first, if that doesn't help, move the latch back a bit from where it is now. Note: make some marks around the edges so you know where you originally started. And then go buy that tilt kit! Good luck, Jag

The hood hinge design is such that pulling the hood forwards will pull the rear edge down.

Yes, move it towards the front of the truck. You practically have to take it out to move it.

Try and see, might be difficult to move it 1/8". Also all the hinge pivots, especially the hidden one must be free and operating smoothly. DON'T try to wind up the springs, sure way to ruin them!
