Hey guys, I'm new here so give a break to a newbie with questions - please!
I was wondering if it's hard to change from a slide door lock to the more up/down lock. I found some door panels at the local junkyard that are for the push/pull lock and my locks are slide. The panels are pretty expensive new so I would like to make these work if it's not too much trouble.
Thanks!
If you get everything you need from the junkyard, the only bad part will be drilling the hole in the top of the door to accept the different lock actuator. For a good clean round hole you should use a unibit to drill the hole.
I have no problem drilling the hole. So, if I go back to the junk yard and just get the linkage I need, the rest is the same?
That's what I'll do! It also has all the interior pieces in tan and I'm going to change my interior to tan- lucky me! The guy said he'd sell me all the pieces for $50 - that's including the door panels.
