Lights, but which Lights

I have for a week been reading about lights. Looking at manufacturer websites, reading reviews and I have found some strong opinions. I also went to Amazon to see about general pricing, but also their reviews which have been helpful.

In an effort to see what other Excursion owners have by way of auxiliary lights, I thought I would post a Poll, I am not intending to start any flame battle, just see what others have and if they like them.

Thanks in advance and I'm sure this will be helpful to others as well.

Angelo

when i am to buy high power off-road lights i will be going with LED only due to its very low power consumption and efficiency. they are very expensive though, but should last longer.

I totally hear you. For my application though it is almost exclusively on the road and only fairly infrequent. For me, I'm going with 55w lights to stay legal on the paved roads/highways I roam. Thanks for the input.

All of those brands are good IMO, you can't go wrong really it's just personal preference as far as I'm concerned.

I am glad to hear you think they are all good ones. Had a Bosch on my VW in high school and never had a problem - 30+ years agi . . .

I really am on the fence between the KC's and the Hella's.

The Hella's are a bit closer to what I am after. I called both companies for some additional product info and I got a pretty good response form KC and have not heard back from someone at Hella (a week ago).

This makes me wonder how committed Hella is to customer service should you need them. At least KC has an actual person at the end of the phone.

Thanks

I had been dreaming of the LED light by Rigid, but could not convince myself to pay the $$ for one. So after searching and a suggestion by someone on FTE I ordered from china, the knock off Aurora lights. They actually went 5 watt led's so I ordered 10, two for myself and sold the other 8. I have since ordered another 10 and now that we are starting to get dark again around 10 pm so it will be easier to sell them.
I have a 50" on my roof box that I use and I might mount a 30" into the area where the factory fogs go for winter use when I take off the roof box.
I used to have 100 watt aircraft landing lights that I used for years and thought they were bright. They are now taken off the truck because of how insignificant they are compared to LED. I don't even use high beam any more, just not bright enough.

can you post a link for the curious minds?
i personally think LED is the way to go for brightness but they are usually expensive. all of those brands are very reputable and are on many trucks, when it comes to halogen durability would be my main concern as for choosing between companies. i dont see light output varying greatly except if you used different style ie spot vs flood etc
