4 X 4 AND ABS ISSUES
My issue is a bit of strange one so not sure if anybody would have any experience with this, but thought I would ask anyway. I bought a 2004 F250 SD XLT 4X4 crew cab which was a a roll over. The cab was replaced with a KR cab, its believed this was from a 2 wheel drive truck. My issue, the electric 4x4 does not work on the truck I have to get out and put it on manually.
Also, the ABS light is on the dash is on and the ABS doesn't work. The overhead panel doesn't work either. A friend of mine believes it could be a wiring harness issue but isn't sure replacing it will have any effect on the 4x4 and the ABS.
If anyone can shed any light on the situation I would be very grateful.
Cheers,
Lets tackle the easy item first.
When you hit the 4x4 switch you say it does not engage so you manually turn the hubs correct?
When you do this does your hvac default to defrost? Turn it on (hvac) and see if that occurs.
If so then most likely a vacuum leak at the hubs or somewhere along the hoses. So start at the hubs and identify the vacuum lines and trace back to the vacuum pump.

Can't help much on the ABS issue, never ran into that myself but searching here should yield you a significant amount of reading.
Start chasing wires down from the overhead console, as stated, might not even be hooked up. I doubt the overhead console issue relates to your other problems.
