Abnormally high egts need help

Hey everyone my truck runs great seems to have lots of power im running erics street tune on my sct when i first start my truck up it works it way up to 400 degrees egts without even moving. Then my crusing egts at 55 are 700-800. Ive replaced my egt probe to see if that was it and it wasnt. I have 315/70/r18 tires and gears are 3.73 and a 100 gal transfer tank in the bed of my truck. My first thought was a boost leak but my truck makes around 24 psi boost so i dont think thats it but maybe its a small one or something any one have any ideas? Thanks.

Is this something that has just changed? That doesn't seem that bad to me with a tuned engine, it doesn't become problematic until it stays over 1300* at WOT. Have you tried removing the tune and see if the numbers drop? my bet is they will. Have you cleaned your EGR valve lately?

No this has just been an on going thing that has kinda bugged me seems like everyone else usually runs around 600* im missing my egr and have a 5 in downpipe back exhaust just thought they should be a little bit lower. But i will try tuning it back to stock and see if anything changes. Thanks for the reply!

Anytime. Is your EGR valve completely gone? If so you need to reinstall it so your clutch fans works properly it also affects VGT ( turbo ) operation. The EGR valve must be plugged in for those items to work properly.

Where is your Egt probe? Pre-turbo or post turbo? If it is per-turbo then these look normal to me, I see 800 cruising around with no tuner

I returned my truck to stock and it didnt make a difference actually seems to have made it run alittle hotter ran 800 degrees going 55 on a 78 degree day. I have my egr valve in and its still plugged in. My probe is on the driver side exhaust manifold just before the bend.
