2006 f350 brake Woes
Driven my new to me 2006 f350 for about a 2 months now about 1000 miles.Since I bought truck it has had very slight brake pulsation, but since it was bought from dealer and came thru there inspection I attributed to coming from f150 back to f350 after 12 years.Brake pulsation,
Pulsation got worse in very short order, could feel pulsation in steering and brake pedal along with entire truck shaking. pulled front wheels and checked rotors, already had power slot rotors from previous owner, they both were warped and left caliper sticking. I had rotors turned and replaced both caliper assemblies and new pads.drove truck after repair and all pulsation gone from front but can still feel truck shaking when braking, I guess from rear rotors.I am going to pull back wheels next week and check these rotors and calipers and will replace rotors if needed since they look original along with calipers if needed.I guess i am a little disgruntled and hope this is not a recurring event.I had my f150 for over 235000 miles and only put one set of pads on it the whole time I had it. It is nice just to vent a little.

A: slotted rotors are actually going to stop you less effectively than blanks. When it comes time to replace them, I would go with good ole Blanks and good pads.
If you are still getting a pulsation but nothing in the steering wheel, than it is the rears at fault now.
I just had to do front pads/rotors and rear pads/rotors/calipers on my 2006 F250 with only 70k miles on it

I talked to dealer manager today and they offered to repair brakes if I paid 1/2 of parts and 1/2 of labor. They gave me a 30 day 3000 mile powertrain warranty for my trouble.I told him I appreciated offer on brake repair but I declined offer.I figure If I repair it myself I would know for sure how it was done and all parts would be replaced and money wise for me would be about the same. They did give me rotors-calipers and pads at wholesale price. I was glad that they at least tried to correct problem.

I carried the slotted rotors to my buddies shop.He was game to try turning them and it didnt cost me anything I have helped him out with his tow truck a few times so he owes me a couple of favors, the worst that could happen was that i had to buy front rotors.i watched him turn them on his lathe and it actually wasnt to bad. but i will replace them with slotted rotors when it comes time.
