E40D filter question
Hi all,
Well, I picked up my transmission yesterday(E40D) and am getting it ready for the truck.
I pulled the old trans filter and the orange grommet/o-ring stayed in the case. I reached up inside the hole to retrieve it, but its damn good and stuck in there! Am I missing something, or do I just have to pick at it to get it all out?

I'm no expert, but I think you just have to pick it out of there. It shouldn't be attached but if someone installed it without anything to lube it a little it might have kind of burnt itself into the body. Someone else will likely have better info.
