Help Quick!!! Interior lights won't go out??

Help quick!!!!!!!!! My interior lights on my 97 F 150 will not go out, I have slammed all the doors hundreds of times. Key is not in the switch and interior light switch is not on. Sometimes it acts like it is on a timer and other times it just will not go out, until I slam the doors countless times.
Help quick..........thanks

Maybe the connection on the back of the pushtype door switch has seized in the open position?

Maybe you should slam your door again.

No really sounds like your connecton on the sensors or the sensors themselves are bad. Bust out your voltmeter and check the switches....

Just a wild stab in the dark, but is the switch inside the door, tied into the latch? If so, you could try spraying the latch with WD-40. Might help.

If you push the pin switch at the front of the door jamb (near the hinges), does the light go out? If so, unscrew it, remove the electrical connector, and use a set of channel-locks to push the brass sleeve back out thru the steel hex body so that the black pin sticks out as far as possible. Reinstall it (with the connector ) and close the door. As the door closes, it automatically resets the depth of the brass sleeve.

The new body style is known to have that problem. The switches for the courtesy lights are inside the door catch mechanisms, inside the doors. Some people have fixed them by spraying oil (like WD-40 or Liquid Wrench) into the mechanism and operating it to clear the grit; others have had to do more work.
