Means its the same as the answer in the other column. They only write a number in the adjacent column unless its different to prevent alot of redundant data. Look at the EL 4x4 vs 4x2 as the 4x4 eats into the tow capacity.

I'm still a bit confused. I would really not think that the 3.73 gears are the weak point (failure point with towing) but I have been wrong before.
It is stated by Ford in black and white. I just question the basis behind it.
As I mentioned previously this is an intellectual exercise as I never expect to be near the 15,000lb GCVW.

In fact unless you checked the option box for 3:73's on a regular length Expy you got 3:31's (standard) It didn't matter if you opted for the HD tow or not as the gearing was not part of the the HD tow package.
My response to "arsExpedition" was a joke because of the way the chart was written. According to the owners manual it doesn't matter what gearing you have, the tow capacity is the same.
