Hi Brian,

Please Let me know if you are going to go with this motor or if you are going to go with something else. If it is a 302 or 332 Lincoln Y block HD truck motor I may be willing to buy it if priced right. If not I must keep searching.
Thank You.

Staying on the subject of the motor in question, the RAM horn exhaust.
To Bill ND
These RAM horns will not work on a 292 block right? If I remember correctly you mentioned something about this a long while back.
I could be wrong, as memory is not as good as it once was.
What are the differences in the RAM horns?

If you look, Brian has not logged on here since March of this year. Your message might not reach him if he doesn't log back on here.

302/332 ram horns (see pic) will not bolt onto 292's. Two completely different Y block engine families, 1956/63 302/332's are Lincoln derived Y blocks.

TA455HO, you are correct. I havent logged on here in a looong time, yet here I am, again, with the same questions, only this time, thinking I had a Lincoln 317 y-block. Because it's my daily driver now, by choice, and the points ignition are driving me nuts. I want electronic ignition. So I googled my dizzy part number, and it took me right back here.
Sorry, I'm not selling the engine or trans. I like how unusual it is. I just hope I can put a pertronix ignitor on it and run electronic, and keep the Rach drive cable.

FIVESTARMMD thank you!! But a Clark WHAT?

I find myself back here on this thread because nobody else seems to know anything about these engines, let alone transmissions. You guys are the best.
The ring gear popped off my flywheel the other day (that's a first for me), and my first step to get at it is to remove the shifter. But I haven't figured out how to do that. Obviously, driving the pin out didn't work. I tried pushing down and turning it ccw, to no avail. Even tried that with a pipe wrench. I must say the spring in there is stronger than a valve spring, and even if I get it out, I can't imagine getting it back together easily. Anyone?

Welcome back. I love a good Flareside truck but your photobucket pics are half blanked out from 2013

I would assume that the 7220 shift lever retainer cap and the 7203 housing have to be removed to gain access to the 7221 pin.

Wow. 7220 appears to be part of the cast case
Do you think it could be on so tight that I need a cheater bar on a pipe wrench?!

And NumberDummy, personal question here. Have any of the Ford magazines ever done a full-length interview with you?
Because you mentioned that you were born in '44, so, frankly, you're no spring chicken. Have you thought about what happens to us once you're gone? My dad was a hardcore Civil War historian, specializing in Irish immigrants. How that he's gone, a lot of unknown tales and statistics and facts are buried for another 100 years. I'd hate to see that happen for you.
If there's ever a Car Guy Hall of fame, you deserve a top spot in the Ford Section.Somebody convince me I'm wrong.
