Man, lots of projects and fast quality work. I'm going to have to schedule to get you down for a visit soon.
Shoot, I need to run over and see your projects too sometime.
I would suggest you hang on to the original springs, I hate to say it, but a large percentage of people that put on monos end up taking them off, They have a different spring characteristic than multi-leafs.
You'll like the Toyota steering tho.
Wouldn't a drop axle be a good solution if you want to lower the front and keep the existing multi-leaf suspension? I haven't heard great things on the mono leafs. I hope it works out for you though.
The multileaf suspension can be lowered several ways:
1. remove every other leaf from the stock stack.
2. replace main leaf with dropped main, and/or reversed eye.
3. use lowering springs.
4. use down and forwards springs.
5. raise shackle mounts.
6. use dropped axle.
7. combine multiple options above.

Ax,
Plan on keeping the old springs but this was a package deal so I figured I'd give them a try.
On your 2nd post I was going to remove leafs but when this came along I figured it's only a few hours work??? Of course now I've got project creap and the frame needs cleaning up
Removed the steering gear! Front motor mount bracket! And wire brushed the outside of the frame. Oh yeah removed the front bumper so I can POR the front horns.
