CEB-6015-B

6015 is the basic number for a block casting number, but what the CEB prefix, B suffix refers to, I dunno.

The thing is, casting numbers cannot be cross referenced to Ford part numbers.

Send an email to John Mummert at FORD Y

He can probably tell you where to look for clues

272 OHV Y block introduced in 1955 Ford Passenger Cars, 1956 F100/600 & C500/600 COE's.

8053 is a cooling related basic ID number (radiator/grille/waterpump & pulleys/hoses/belts, etc). 6053 is a cylinder head related basic casting number.

I think what Bill is trying to tell you is Ford didn't ID their engines with external casting #s or markings like some other manufacturers.
