5.0 6.2 and 3.5 all in the family!

so at my work the owners of the company have f-150s. one is a 2011 6.2 lariat limited 4x4. the other is a 2011 5.0 platinum 4x4. last week we just leased a new outside sales truck which is a 2013 xlt 3.5 ecoboost 4x4. today they happened to all be parked next to each other so i had to grab a pic. we are a diverse company

This is pretty sweet. Family brand loyalty is awesome to see.

But the real question is...when's the 3 wide drag race going to happen??

i think it would be really interesting to see since all 3 trucks are super crew 5'5" box 4x4's. the 5.0 and 6.2 have 3:73 gearing i have not looked to see what the ecoboost has for gearing yet. i think it would be a close race!

so a little update.

the eco boost now has 2k miles on it, mostly highway since the sales guy commutes 150 miles just to and from work not including running around town.

the 5.0 has 9k on it and the 6.2 has 8k on it. both of these are driven all in town...no real highway.

the current MPG numbers on the dash read out's that have not been reset since new.

3.5 = 17.7 mpg

5.0 = 15.8 mpg

6.2 = 12.7 mpg

The sales guy must be enjoying the turbos quite often if he's only getting 18 mpg...

I cant speak for the 6.2 drivers but sounds like the 5.0 and eco drivers are lead footed!

Yep...but it's hard not to be. Those are fun trucks to drive.

all three drivers (each is only driven by one person) are very conservative drivers. Every time i have rode with them i wanted to reach over and mash the gas because it was nauseatingly slow!

I personally thought the numbers were pretty damn good myself! except maybe the 3.5 but its still brand new and needs to break in.

the 2 V8s are strictly driven in town. I know our driving terrain has alot to do with low MPG. We have high speed limits in town(45-65mph), lots of stop lights, lots of hills..ect so all of those things do not add up for good MPG.

Agreed, especially as they are 100% town trucks. Those are very respectable numbers.

my shops eco is pushing an avg of 17 MPG and my 5.0 is at 18 MPG. so to say your numbers are bad is just wrong. I was just saying you can get better MPG out of both trucks if they are drove right.
granted every one drives my shop's truck(3.5) and beats on it! I know I do he he.

driving "right" has a different meaning for everyone

"Right" for me is denting the floor board behind the gas pedal...lol

i know when i drove the 6.2 the MPG avg fell to 10.2 if that tells you anything.
