I have a friend selling his 2003 7.3 F350 srw 4x4 auto. He has a TS6 chip that he wants to sell. He also has a riffraff boost fooler to boot. He told me he would sell it to me for $150.00. So my question is would the chip work on my truck. My truck is a 2001 F250 4x4 auto. Right now I have a super chip programmer in it. Also , if it will work is this a good price and how hard is it to mount the chip in my truck ?
Thanks

First thing you need to do is see if the PCMs are the same. If they are your good to go and that's a good price. If the PCMs are different I don't it will work.
Yes, there's a little sticker on a plastic tab that you can check. Your 01 is going to be a different computer code than an 03, but you can send the chip in to one of the custom tuners who burns TS chips and get tunes for your truck.
If you want to stick with the local tuners from Texas, your options will be Tony Wildman, Matt Robinson, or David Lott.
There are many more such as Brians Truck Shop, No Limit, Beans, Swamps, Power-Struck. The main advantage of a TS chip VS a DP tuner is that it can be tuned by any of the above as well as many others, where as the DP chips can only run DP tunes.
you would have to get it reprogrammed....my offer was that of if you wanted a custom chip but maybe you wanted to try dp tuner instead of the ts style chip....i have a dp f5 i would trade you for the ts chip if you did want to try dp tunes.....dp tuner only tunes their own style of chips.....
