Dieselsite coolant filter

How do you change out the filter? I tried to do it before work today in a super hurry, so I didn't give anything much thought at all which was stupid. Is the filter just a spin on or do you have to use a oil filter wrench or something? I couldnt get the thing to budge and ran out of time to give it any more thought. Did some searching but all that came up was what interval to change the filter at haha.

Okay thanks. The two 18mm brass bolts, the one on top and on the side, do those need to come out or leave them in?

Why would you take them out? Your over thinking this filter change. If you have isolation valves I'd close them. If not just change the filter.

They are there if you want to change the hose configuration.

Oh okay. I guess I lost some coolant changing the filter. Degas bottle is well below the minimum line and I can't get ahold of any Ford gold until tomorrow. Should I just add distilled water until I can get some or what?

Zerex GO-5 is the same as Ford Gold. Napa and other auto stores carry it. Use a 50/50 mix. I'd just wait till you have it. You couldn't have lost enough to hurt anything. Remember the coolant should be just below the min line on the degas bottle.

Oh okay. The other day is was showing pretty low, but that was while the motor was hot. When it cooled down it was showing a more acceptable level, just under the minimum line but now it's pretty low. I just had the radiator changed cause it cracked and changed both hoses so maybe with all of that combined it just needs a little more.

Out of curiousity is it okay to mix Ford gold and premium gold?
