My truck started acting funny the other day, only building ~5psi boost, turbo farting more than normal so my immediate thought was stuck vanes, turbo needs to be cleaned. So today I started tearing into the truck and found a birds nest at the front of the air cleaner, filling up the entire front intake. Before I get too much further into the truck tear down, I wanted some opinions on he likelihood this is what was causing my problems. I don't want to get the truck hot by test driving it and loosing another day with the truck by waiting for it to cool down.
1)That is most definitely NOT a bird's nest. The culprit is either rat, mouse, or squirrel.
2)Most likely, that's your issue...lol.
3)Check around to make sure those little *******s didn't chew up any wires. (You must not run the truck often) They will use whatever is available to make their nest.
The only reason I thought it was a bird is about a week ago while in a meeting at work I saw a bunch of birds flyin in and out around the grill of my truck. Didn't think much about it since they seemed to be just sitting on the grill.
Truck is a DD, hasn't say more than two days since I bought it in March. I took it for a test drive, but it was not the full problem. Certainly feels better but still not what it should be.
