If I remember right it is on a brace to the lower part of the dash, I can't remember if it is on the top or bottom of that brace though..

I found a picture of one from an 82 ford, yours will probably be a little different but this should give you an idea what to look for..

I "think" it should be about half way between the bottom edge of the dash and the firewall, just over the accelerator pedal or maybe just a little to the right of it...

But one thing, the picture I posted pretty much proves that is what the plug is for.
