Got a 08/90 Bronco. 4.9l 4x4 e40d. Needs a new transmisison.
Have a '93 f150 4.9l 4x4 e40d on hand.

Will these years swap? I've heard that they relocated the speedo gear after 1990...would that require a ECM / trans computer swap along with rear axle to work or no way?

 

As long as you keep your trasfercase, you will not have to mess with the speedometer cable.

Looks like the mechanical shift lever vs. cable shift will have to be swapped...that rod should slide out after the pin and nut inside the trans are
