1979 E350 Oil Filter Adapter
Recent owner of a 1979 E350 Class C motorhome with a 460 engine. The oil filter adapter has leakage issues. The o-ring that goes between the adapter and the block has been replaced, but the washer/bushing for the hollow mounting bolt is hard to source. The replacement part came in as just a flat, fibre washer without shoulder. Though I will likely use it as the old part is cracked, this is not by choice as much as necessity. The question I have then is: is there an after market filter adapter available for this engine that has less leakage issues? Is there an oil filter available that can be mounted to the engine block without the use of the 90degree adapter? As this seems to be a common problem with this older style engine, I'm hoping there is a good solution out there. Thanks.
