I am looking at 1965 F500 ford grain truck and would need to tow it if I acquire it. I would like to know the approximate curb weight for this type of truck. Any ideas? Vin information I have is F50CC581954 with a 156" wheel base, 15000 GVW, Body 481, and Transmission N. If it matters the rear is dual wheel (900 x 20) with single speed differential.
I would guess your F500 would weigh 8000 to 9000 lbs my F600 with 14 ft grainbed weighs 8800 lbs. Hope you can aquire that F500 I would love to find one to go with my F600 and F350. We would like to see some pics when you get her home.

Hi shillinghillf600:
That is close to my guess so I will assume 9000 lbs maximum. The box on this unit is shorter at 11 ft so that will lower the weight a bit. I will not be able to see the truck for a while as there is to much happening for me right now.
