Ok so I have a 1999 Navigator DOHC. The other day the check engine soon light comes on. I hook it up and get p0402 (I believe) anyway excessive flow.
So I go and look for the EGR Valve, and don't see it. I look online, look in alldatadiy And everything I am seeing the EGR Valve is right up front next tothe power steering fill. So I goback out and look following the lines. I find it! No where near where it should be. This thing is dead center, behind the engine. About 3" from the back of the car radio.
WHAT'S GOING ON!!!
Were there two different engine setups?
If so which one do I have?
So I tried taking the upper intake off to get to it, But the last 3 bolts were so far back and closed in I couldn't even get a wrench back there.
Is there an easier way to get to it? maybe through the dash in the cabin, or is there an access through the vents by the windshield wipers?
Any and all help is appreciated.
THANKS
I don't know what you're looking at but the EGR valve is on the back of the intake manifold. There's a tube that comes off the top rear half of the driver's exhaust manifold. Follow that tube right up to the EGR valve.
